one large 2 kg octopus
2 onions , finely chopped
4 garlic cloves , minced
1 1/2 - 2 cups red wine
1/4 cup olive oil
1 -2 teaspoon hot sauce ( to taste )
1 teaspoon cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 potatoes , peeled and quartered
1/2 cup water , if needed

Instructions
