The Almond cake became popular in the 19th century when bakers started using almonds grown in the groves around the town. The cake is moist, nutty, and topped with a delicious sugar syrup and sliced almonds. It can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea and is perfect for a sweet treat after a hearty meal.
