Ingredients

3 cups flour
1 fresh yeast cake
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1.In a bowl, dissolve the fresh yeast cake with warm water and a little sugar. Set aside to activate the yeast.
2.In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and butter.
3.Add the activated yeast and mix.
4.Beat in the eggs one at a time until well incorporated.
5.Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
6.Set aside for an hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
7.Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
8.Using a tablespoon or small ice cream scoop, drop the dough into the oil and cook until golden brown.
9.Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
10.Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar.
