1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup kirsch ( or milk )
4 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
milk ( for brushing )

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix together sugar, honey, egg, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, aniseed, nutmeg and kirsch (or milk).
2.Gradually add flour and baking powder, continuing to mix until the dough is smooth.
3.Rest the dough in the refrigerator for about an hour.
4.Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
5.Roll out the dough and cut out the cakes.
6.Brush the cakes with milk and place them on a baking sheet.
7.Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cakes are lightly browned.
8.Serve and enjoy your Appenzell Honey Cakes!
