1 head red cabbage , finely shredded

Instructions

1.Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a large pot.
2.Add onions and sauté until translucent.
3.Add shredded red cabbage and stir it continuously while cooking for 5-7 minutes until its wilted.
4.Add quartered apples and four cloves, and cook for another 5 minutes.
5.Add 1/2 cup red wine and 1/4 cup vinegar.
6.Sprinkle 1/3 cup of brown sugar and add the juice of half a lemon and 2 bay leaves.
7.Stir well, cover with a tight-fitting lid, and let it cook on a low heat for an hour until the cabbage is soft.
8.Remove the bay leaves and serve hot.
