2 Italian sausage links , casings removed
1 pound lean ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 yellow onion , chopped

1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 cup chopped fresh oregano

1 package uncooked spaghetti
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1.In a large pot boil water. Once the water has boiled, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions or desired texture.
2.In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Once heated, add the Italian sausage links (casings removed) and cook until browned. Remove the browned sausage links and set aside.
3.In the same pan, add the lean ground beef , salt, and pepper. Cook the meat until it is browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
4.To the pan, add the chopped yellow onion and sauté until the onions are translucent in color. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for an additional 2 minutes.
5.Add the can of whole peeled tomatoes and stir gently to break the tomatoes down. Add a can of tomato sauce, dried basil, fresh oregano, and a bay leaf. Simmer the sauce for about 15 minutes.
6.Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and combine well. Serve the spaghetti hot, topped with browned Italian sausage links and grated Parmesan cheese.
