Ingredients

900 ml salt water
250 g spaghetti , broken
2 medium onions , chopped
2 teaspoons cornflour
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg , grated
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons cold water
150 ml evaporated milk
75 g cheese , grated
2 tablespoons rolled oats
chopped parsley or chives

Instructions

1.In a pot, bring salt water to boil and cook broken spaghetti according to package instructions until it's tender.
2.In a frying pan, fry the chopped onions until they turn golden brown in colour.
3.In a small bowl, mix cornflour, nutmeg, pepper, and 2 tablespoons of cold water to form a mixture and then add it to the pan.
4.Add evaporated milk and cheese to the pan and stir until the cheese melts and a creamy sauce is formed.
5.Preheat the grill and mix rolled oats and chopped parsley or chives, then drain the spaghetti and put it in an oven proof dish.
6.Pour the cheese sauce on top of the spaghetti and sprinkle the oats mixture.
7.Grill the Spaghetti Lyonnaise Au Gratin for 5-10 minutes until it turns golden brown.
