Ingredients

dulce de leche ( I use Dulce De Leche Sauce ) ( optional )
1 baked pastry shells , cooled . ( I have used graham cracker crust too )
1/3 cup sugar

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2.In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cornstarch, heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, and egg yolks.
3.Add the butter and vanilla extract, and cook over medium-low heat, stirring for 5 to 7 minutes until the mixture thickens.
4.Pour the filling into the baked pastry shell.
5.Sprinkle sugar evenly over the top of the pie, and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar or put into the preheated oven and bake for 5-10 minutes until the sugar has melted and turned golden brown.
6.Place the pie in the refrigerator for 2 hours or overnight.
