Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs savoy cabbage
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup onion , chopped
1 cup celery , cut into 1/2 inch dice
1 tablespoon garlic clove , minced
salt & freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons caraway seeds
1 teaspoon ground coriander ( optional )
1/4 cup chicken stock
1 1/4 cups cooked rice
3/4 lb ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 cups onions , chopped
1 cup celery , cut into 1/2 inch dice
1 cup carrot , cut into 1/2 inch dice
3 cups tomatoes , drained and chopped ( canned )
salt & freshly ground black pepper
2 bay leaves
1 cup chicken stock
1 cup dry white wine
Jacques' Stuffed Cabbage is a classic Eastern European dish that has been enjoyed for generations. This hearty and filling meal is perfect for a cozy night in, or to serve to a large family gathering. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
2.To assemble the filling, heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
3.Add the onions, celery, garlic, salt, pepper, and spices.
4.Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5.Pour in the chicken stock and reduce the heat to low.
6.Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the vegetables are tender.
7.Remove from the heat and set aside.
8.Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned. Drain.
9.Add the onion, celery, and carrots to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes.
10.Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper, and bay leaves. Cook for 10 minutes.
11.Remove the bay leaves and add the chicken stock and wine. Simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated.
12.Combine the onion mixture, ground beef, cooked rice, and more salt and pepper, if needed.
13.Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cabbage and simmer for 5 minutes.
14.Drain and rinse under cold water.
15.Using a knife, remove the core of the cabbage.
16.Gently separate the leaves.
17.Spoon the filling onto the center of each cabbage leaf.
18.Roll up the cabbage around the filling and tuck the edges underneath.
19.Place rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.
20.Cover and bake for 45 minutes.
21.Uncover and bake for another 20 minutes.
