Ingredients

15 g butter
225 g leeks ( rinsed and finely sliced )
350 g pork mince
150 ml low-fat milk
150 ml chicken stock
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 tablespoon lemon juice ( fresh or bottled )
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 teaspoons cornflour
4 tablespoons double cream
500 g puff pastry
1 egg yolk ( beaten to glaze )
Pork Jalousie is a savoury meat pie made with puff pastry that is perfect for a family dinner. The dish originated in England and has since become a classic British dish. Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C for fan ovens), Gas Mark 6.
2.In a pan, melt the butter and add the sliced leeks. Cook over a medium heat for 10 minutes or until softened.
3.Add the pork mince, breaking it up with a spoon as you stir. Cook for 10 minutes or until browned.
4.Pour in the milk and chicken stock. Add the dried sage, lemon juice, salt and pepper and stir well. Bring the mixture to the boil.
5.Mix the cornflour and double cream together. Add this to the pan and stir constantly until the sauce thickens.
6.Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to form a rectangle, approximately 35cm x 25cm.
7.Spoon the pork mixture onto one half of the pastry, leaving a border around the edge.
8.Fold the other half of the pastry over the pork mixture and gently seal the edges.
9.Brush the beaten egg yolk over the pastry.
10.Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
