Ingredients

1 beef tenderloin or ( 10 -12 ounce ) beef medallions
coarse salt
fresh coarse ground black pepper
2 -3 tablespoons butter
1 -2 large shallot , minced ( about 1/3 cup )
3/4 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 large garlic cloves , minced
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 tablespoon flour
3/4 cup beef broth
3/4 cup good quality dry red wine

Instructions
