Ingredients

6 1/2 cups water

2 cups polenta ( medium grind cornmeal )
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 orange , zest of , grated
1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
1 cup milk
6 tablespoons butter
1/2 1/2 cup semolina flour or 1/2 cup fine cornmeal

Instructions

1.In a large pot combine 6 cups water and salt, bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
2.Then reduce heat to medium-low and whisk in polenta. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens.
3.Stir in maple syrup, cinnamon, orange zest, and nutmeg. Then pour polenta into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Chill for at least 4 hours.
4.Preheat oven to 375°F
5.Take chilled polenta and remove from the baking dish and cut into 8 triangles.
6.In a separate bowl whisk together 1/2 cup water, milk, and melted butter. Dip polenta triangles into the milk mixture and then dust lightly with semolina flour or fine cornmeal.
7.In a frying pan, melt butter over medium-high heat and cook polenta triangles until golden brown on both sides.
8.Serve your Polenta French Toast with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
