2 cups fresh black currants , stems removed
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 cups brandy or 2 cups cognac

Instructions

1.In a large saucepan on medium heat, combine the black currants, sugar, and water, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved.

4.Add the brandy or cognac to the bowl, stirring the mixture to blend.
5.Pour the mixture into a clean bottle or jar with a tight seal.
6.Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
