Ingredients

1 head green cabbage
1 lb ground beef or 1 lb ground lamb
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1 medium fine chopped onion
2 medium tomatoes , chopped
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup fine chop fresh parsley or 1 tablespoon dried parsley
1/2 cup butter
3 cups stock or 3 cups water
1 can tomato sauce
1 lemon , juice of
Greek Cabbage Rolls (Lahanadolmathes) is a well-known and loved dish in the Greek cuisine. Usually served hot, it is ideal for a family meal or for entertaining guests. Instructions

1.Boil the cabbage leaves until they soften, then set aside.
2.In a bowl, mix the ground beef or lamb, uncooked rice, chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper and parsley.
3.Take a cabbage leaf, put a spoonful of the mix on top. Wrap the cabbage leaf around the fillings and tuck the edges in to close it up.
4.Repeat until you use up all of the mix.
5.Layer the stuffed cabbage layers at the bottom of a large pot.
6.Melt the butter in a separate pot, then add the stock or water, tomato sauce, and lemon juice to make the sauce. Pour the sauce over the stuffed cabbage leaves in the pot.
7.Cover and cook for about 50 minutes.
8.Serve the cabbage rolls hot and enjoy!
