Ingredients

5 fresh pears
100 g sugar
160 g butter
100 g confectioners ' sugar
60 g honey
150 g xinomyzithra cheese ( substitution -- a combination of 2 ounces whipped greek feta cheese and 2 ounces farmer 's cheese )
3 eggs
230 g flour
100 g ground walnuts

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2.Peel and core 4 pears and dice them. Place the diced pears in a pot and add 100g of sugar. Cook the pears and sugar on medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool.
3.In a mixing bowl, cream 160g of butter and 100g of confectioners' sugar until smooth. Add 60g of honey and mix together.
4.Add 150g of xinomyzithra cheese (or a combination of whipped Greek feta cheese and farmer's cheese), 3 eggs, and 230g of flour to the mixing bowl. Mix everything together until smooth.
5.Grease a 9-inch tart pan with butter. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and place the dough in the tart pan. Pour the cooled pear mixture onto the dough in the tart pan.
6.Slice the remaining pear into thin slices and arrange them on top of the pear mixture in the tart pan. Sprinkle 100g of ground walnuts over the top of the pear slices.
7.Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the edges of the tart become golden brown. Let cool before slicing and serving.
