Ingredients

1 cup milk
6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 packages active dry yeast
1 teaspoon crushed cardamom or 6 whole cardamom seeds , crushed
4 1/2 - 5 cups flour

Instructions

1.Warm milk and butter over a low heat until the butter is melted. Allow to cool.
2.beat eggs in a large bowl and stir in sugar and salt.
3.Pour cooled milk mixture into the eggs mixture and stir until well combined.
4.Add yeast and cardamom and mix well.
5.Gradually add flour, stirring until dough forms.
6.Knead the dough for about 10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
7.Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
8.Punch down dough and form into a large ring-shape, and place on a greased baking sheet.
9.Preheat oven to 375°F and let the dough rise for additional 20 minutes, then bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
