2 tablespoons unsalted butter , melted and cooled , plus additional for greasing
2 tablespoons molasses ( not blackstrap )
vegetable oil , for greasing
1 large egg , lightly beaten , for egg wash
1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt
4 ounces unsalted butter

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, combine the yeast, brown sugar, and warm water. Let sit for about 5 minutes, or until foamy.

3.Pour the yeast mixture over the flour mixture, then add the butter and molasses. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
4.Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Place into a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour.
5.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
6.Punch down the dough, then divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place it into the prepared muffin tin.
