Ingredients

1 kg beef , diced ( shank , shin or shoulder )
2 middle size red onions , chopped
3 pieces carrots , sliced
1 -2 piece turnip , sliced
1 piece bell pepper , sliced
1 piece tomatoes , sliced
4 -5 pieces potatoes , diced
1 tablespoon ground paprika
1 pinch cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
3 1/2 cups water ( or as much soup or stew you want )
1 vegetable stock cube ( optional )
1 egg
1 pinch salt
150 g flour ( or till becomes hard paste )
1 teaspoon water
Originating in Hungary, goulash is a traditional soup made with paprika, meat, and vegetables. This soup has made its way throughout Europe and is now popular throughout the world. Gulyas soup, as it's known in Hungary, is thick and hearty, with chunks of beef, potatoes, and vegetables all cooked together in a flavorful broth. Instructions

1.Sear the beef in a large pot until nicely browned and set aside.
2.In the same pot, add onions, carrots, turnip, bell pepper and tomatoes.
3.Add 1 tablespoon ground paprika, 1 pinch cumin, 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper and 1/2 teaspoon chili powder.
4.Add 3 1/2 cups water, or as much soup or stew you want and a vegetable stock cube (optional).
5.Bring to the boil, reduce the heat, and add the diced potatoes to the soup.
6.Cook until the meat is tender (about 1 hour).
7.Mix 150g flour with a little water, a pinch of salt and 1 egg to form a hard paste.
8.Using a fork, scrape small pea-sized balls from the paste into the soup, being careful to avoid big lumps.
9.Cook until the pasta is cooked through.
10.Serve hot!
