Ingredients

1/2 lb butter ( not margarine )
2 tablespoons Crisco
6 tablespoons powdered sugar
6 egg yolks
1/2 pint sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour
1/2 large cake yeast
2 lbs chopped walnuts
beaten egg white ( I 'm assuming the ones used from the dough , but it does n't specify )

Instructions

1.Combine butter, Crisco, powdered sugar, egg yolks and sour cream in a mixing bowl and beat until fully incorporated.
2.Add in salt and sift the flour over the mixture, mixing it in slowly until it forms a dough.
3.On a floured surface, lightly knead the dough for a minute or two before allowing it to rest for 10 minutes.
4.Using a glass or cookie cutter, cut out circles in the dough and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5.In a separate bowl, mix together chopped walnuts and sugar, then place a small amount on top of each dough circle.
6.Take beaten egg whites and brush the edges of the dough with it, then fold over into crescent shapes.
7.Bake in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
