75 g soft margarine
50 g smooth peanut butter or 50 g crunchy peanut butter
50 g caster sugar
50 g demerara sugar
100 g plain flour
1 pinch salt
Peanut butter cookies are a classic American treat, but this recipe gives them a British twist with the use of demerara sugar. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/gas 4 and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

4.Roll small spoonfuls of the mixture into balls and place on the baking tray, flattening each one slightly.

6.Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
