Ingredients

1 ounce butter
3 1/2 ounces button mushrooms , finely chopped
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 lb sausage meat
salt & freshly ground black pepper
1 lb premade puff pastry , rolled
1 free-range egg , beaten
Big Sausage Rolls are a classic British dish that has been enjoyed for generations. These hearty rolls are perfect for picnics, lunch or as a snack on-the-go. The filling is made of sausage meat, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, and thyme, giving it a delicious, savory taste that is sure to satisfy your hunger. The rolls are wrapped in crispy and flaky puff pastry, making it a perfect combination of textures. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan)/220°C/gas 7.
2.Melt the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes until they are tender and the liquid has evaporated.
3.Allow the mushrooms to cool, then mix with the Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, thyme and sausage meat. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
4.Roll the premade puff pastry into a rectangular shape, roughly 30 x 40cm and cut it in half lengthways.
5.Divide the sausage meat mixture in half and shape each half into a long sausage shape that is slightly shorter than the length of the pastry.
6.Place a sausage roll onto each piece of puff pastry and brush the edges of the pastry with some beaten egg. Roll the pastry around the sausage meat and press the edges together to seal.
7.Cut each large sausage roll into smaller pieces, roughly 5cm in length, and place them onto a baking sheet.
8.Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with more beaten egg and bake them in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
