1 small onion , finely chopped
1/4 lb mushroom , sliced
1 low-sodium bouillon cube
10 fluid ounces hot water
2 tablespoons cornflour or 2 tablespoons bisto , blended with a little cold water
salt and black pepper , to season

Instructions

1.In a pan, melt the unsalted butter and sauté the finely chopped onion until transparent.
2.Add the sliced mushroom and cook until they have released their liquid and have browned.
3.Dissolve the low-sodium bouillon cube in hot water and pour into the pan while stirring.
4.Add the blended cornflour or Bisto and stir to thicken the mixture.
5.Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
6.Remove from heat and serve with roasted meat or vegetables.
