Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2.In a large pot, bring the white wine, sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves to a simmer over medium heat.
3.Meanwhile, peel, core, and slice the pears.
4.Add the pear slices to the simmering wine mixture and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the pears are tender but not mushy.
5.Remove the pears from the pot with a slotted spoon and place them in a bowl.
6.Increase the heat on the pot and reduce the liquid to about 1 cup, stirring occasionally.
7.Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves.
8.Stir in 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon rose water into the reduced liquid, then pour it over the pear slices.
9.Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface and use it to line a 9-inch pie dish.
10.Pour the pear filling into the prepared crust and dot with butter.
11.Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon rose water and 1 tablespoon sugar.
12.Cover the pie with the second rolled out crust and cut slits on the top for steam to escape.
13.Bake for 50-60 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
