Ingredients

1 ( .25 ounce ) envelope active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
6 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1/4 cup melted butter , cooled
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let sit for 5 minutes
2.In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt
3.Beat eggs in a separate bowl and add melted butter and milk
4.Mix the yeast mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and gradually add the egg mixture, stirring until mixture is smooth and doughy
5.Cover dough and let sit for 1 hour to rise
6.Flour a flat surface and cut dough into 12 pieces
7.Roll each piece into a muffin shape and let sit for 2 hours to rise again
8.Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium heat and cook muffins for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown
9.Serve warm with butter or your favorite spread
