Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 cup packed light brown sugar or 1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup butter , softened
1 cup chopped nuts ( any kind ( Beth made these with macadamia nuts )
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar or 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips or 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
These Swirly Caramel Choco-Butterscotch Shortbread Bars are the perfect indulgence for any dessert lover. A buttery and crumbly shortbread base is topped with layers of gooey caramel, rich butterscotch, and silky smooth chocolate. The nutty macadamia nuts add crunch and balance out the sweetness of the dessert. These bars are perfect for entertaining or as an after-dinner treat. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C)
2.For the shortbread layer, mix the flour, butter, and brown sugar together until it forms a crumbly mixture. Press into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top.
3.For the caramel layer, combine the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil for one minute, stirring constantly. Pour over the shortbread layer.
4.For the chocolate layer, melt the butterscotch chips in a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring frequently. Once melted, pour over the caramel layer. Repeat the process with the milk or white chocolate chips and drizzle over the butterscotch layer. Swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
5.Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
