1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water

1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 400°F
2.Peel, core and thinly slice the apples.
3.In a saucepan, heat the sugar and water until the sugar dissolves.
4.Add the cinnamon and lemon zest and stir.
5.Add the apple slices to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes until softened.
6.Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle and cut into 4 squares.
7.Spread the marmalade on the puff pastry squares.
8.Divide the apple mixture between the squares, placing it in the center.
9.Brush the edges of the pastry squares with milk and fold over the corners to enclose the apple mixture.
10.Transfer the squares onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with milk.
11.Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown.
12.Serve warm.
