Ingredients

2 cups oatmeal
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups milk

Instructions

1.Mix oatmeal and salt in a bowl
2.Add milk to the mixture and stir well
3.Pour the mixture into a greased pudding bowl and cover
4.Place the pudding bowl in a large pot with water up to 1/3 of the side of the pudding bowl
5.Put the lid on the pot and steam for 3 hours
6.Once steamed, remove pudding bowl from the pot and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving

This Scottish pudding is easy to make and being a steamed pudding, it is a healthier alternative to baked puddings.

CONS

The texture of the pudding can be a turn off for some as it is quite heavy and dense.
