Ingredients

1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
2.Peel and core the apples, and slice them thin.
3.In a bowl, mix the sugar, water, cinnamon, and lemon zest.
4.Add in the apple slices and toss them well to coat.
5.Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/4 inch thickness.
6.Cut out a circle of pastry, about 12 inches in diameter.
7.Spread marmalade on top of the pastry, leaving a 2 inch border around the edge.
8.Arrange the apple slices on top of the marmalade in an overlapping pattern.
9.Fold over the edges of the pastry to form a border around the fruit.
10.Brush the border with milk.
11.Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
12.Serve warm or at room temperature.
