1 cup almonds ( chopped )
2 tablespoons lemon rind ( grated )
1 teaspoon vanilla
powdered sugar ( optional )

Surmælksfrugtbrød, also known as Sour Cream Fruit Bread, is a traditional Danish bread that is soft, moist, and bursting with flavors. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2.In a large bowl, mix sugar, white flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, dried apricot, dried prune, and salt together.
3.In a separate bowl, beat the egg and mix in sour cream, melted butter, almonds, lemon rind, and vanilla.
4.Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
5.Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and bake for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
