Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix together oatmeal and salt.
2.Gradually pour milk into the mixture while stirring continuously.
3.Grease a 1.5-liter pudding basin and pour the mixture into it.
4.Cover the basin with a lid or aluminum foil.
5.Place the basin in a large pot on a trivet or an upturned plate.
6.Pour enough water into the pot until it reaches halfway up the basin.
7.Cover the pot with a lid and steam over medium heat for 3 hours.
8.Remove the basin from the pot and let it cool for a few minutes.
9.Unmold the pudding onto a plate and serve hot with cream or jam.
