1 lb granny smith apple
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 lemon , zest of , finely grated
1 lb puff pastry
3 tablespoons marmalade
1/4 cup milk ( for brushing )
Apple Flory is a classic Scottish Puff Pastry Tart, typically consumed as a dessert. The recipe combines the tangy and refreshing taste of apples with the crispy, buttery flavor of puff pastry. Easy and quick to make, it's an ideal dessert option for impromptu dinner parties, family gatherings, or even personal gratification. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.Peel, core and slice the apples into thin wedges or small cubes.
3.In a deep saucepan, combine apples, granulated sugar, water, ground cinnamon and lemon zest. Cook over medium heat until the apples are tender and the mixture turns into a thick syrup.
4.Roll out the puff pastry into a large rectangle.
5.Cut the pastry sheet into equal halves.
6.Spread the marmalade on top of one half.
7.Arrange the cooked apple mixture on top of the marmalade layer without the syrup.
8.Cover with the second half of pastry sheet and press the edges firmly to seal them.
9.Brush the top of the pastry with milk, prick all over with a fork, and bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, approximately 25 - 30 minutes.
10.Slice and serve warm or cold.
