Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.Spread butter over the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan.
3.Beat egg yolks, egg white, and 1 cup sugar together until smooth.
4.Beat 1/4 cup hot water into the egg mixture.
5.Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
6.Bake in the preheated oven until the pudding is set and the surface is golden brown, about 45 minutes.
7.In a small saucepan, combine 1 1/3 cups sugar, 1/2 cup hot water, cinnamon stick, and lemon peel.
8.Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved.
9.Pour the syrup over the pudding, let cool, then chill before slicing and serving.
