Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2.Line a muffin tin with paper cases.
3.In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4.Sift in the flour and cocoa powder and mix again.
5.Next, beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well each time.
6.Spoon the mixture into the muffin cases, filling each about two thirds full.
7.Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until risen and firm to the touch.
8.Allow to cool completely before decorating.
9.To make the frosting, beat together the butter, icing sugar, and cocoa powder until light and fluffy.
10.Spoon the frosting into a piping bag and pipe onto each cupcake, creating a slightly pointed hump in the middle to resemble an owl's head.
11.Cut liquorice allsorts into small triangles and use as ears, and use sweets or candy to make the eyes and nose.
12.Serve and enjoy!
