8 cups all-purpose flour | |
1 teaspoon baking powder | |
1 teaspoon salt | |
4 cups butter , softened | |
2 cups granulated sugar | |
1 teaspoon almond extract |
1. | Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) |
2. | In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt |
3. | In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy |
4. | Add almond extract to the creamed mixture |
5. | Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until well combined |
6. | Divide dough into three parts and roll each part out to 1/2 inch thickness |
7. | Cut into desired shapes and place on ungreased baking sheet |
8. | Bake for 20-25 minutes or until edges are lightly golden |
9. | Cool on wire racks before serving |
