Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.In a mixing bowl, cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour until crumbly.
3.Stir in 2 tbsp water until well blended.
4.Shape dough into a ball and chill for 30 minutes.
5.In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg yolk until smooth. Set aside.
6.In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water and bring to a boil.
7.Add almond extract and 1 cup flour, stirring constantly until mixture forms a ball.
8.Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes.
9.Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
10.Spread 2/3 of the dough onto a greased baking sheet to form a wreath shape.
11.Spoon cream cheese mixture onto the dough and spread it evenly.
12.Roll out remaining dough and cut into strips.
13.Use the strips to make a lattice design over the cream cheese mixture.
14.Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
15.Top with glaze, candied cherries, and toasted sliced almonds. Serve and enjoy!
