1/2 cup blanched almond
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter , cut into small pieces
1 large egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
8 candied red cherries
16 green glazed cherries
Danish Cookie Rings, also known as Vanille Kranse, are a traditional Danish cookie typically made during the Christmas season. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.Grind almonds in a food processor until finely ground.
3.In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar and baking powder.
4.Add butter and blend with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
5.Whisk together egg, milk and vanilla in a small bowl, then add to flour mixture with ground almonds and stir until mixture forms a soft dough.
6.Roll dough into small balls and then shape into rings, pressing colored cherries into the top of each.
7.Place on baking sheets and bake until golden brown, about 12-15 minutes. Let cool and enjoy!
