3/4 cup white wine
4 teaspoons creme de cassis liqueur
Kir is a French cocktail made with white wine and blackcurrant liqueur, and is perfect for a summer evening with friends. The drink was named after a 19th-century mayor of Dijon, who created it by adding a splash of cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) to the local white wine. The resulting mix was a hit, and remains popular to this day. It is also enjoyed as an aperitif in France.

Instructions

1.Chill white wine and liqueur in the refrigerator.
2.Pour measured amount of creme de cassis liqueur into a white wine glass.
3.Slowly pour in the white wine over the back of a spoon to create two layers.
4.Give it a gentle stir and serve.
