6 potatoes , thinly sliced | |
1 large onion , cut into matchstick-size pieces | |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder | |
1/4 cup water | |
3 tablespoons butter | |
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour | |
1/2 cup milk , or more as needed |
1. | Preheat oven to 375°F. |
2. | In a greased 13x9-inch baking dish, layer potatoes and onions. Sprinkle with garlic powder. Pour water over top. Dot with butter. |
3. | In a small bowl, whisk flour and milk until smooth; pour over potatoes. |
4. | Bake, covered, for 30 minutes. Uncover; bake until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown, 25-30 minutes longer. |
