Ingredients

2 1/4 teaspoons yeast , 1 package , never quick rise
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup water , lukewarm
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons sweet butter , melted
3 cups unbleached flour
6 tablespoons sweet butter , melted
1 cup fresh cilantro , finely chop
Yutangza, or steamed cilantro buns, are a popular appetizer in Chinese cuisine. They are soft, fluffy buns with a filling of fresh cilantro. Although they may take some time to prepare and cook, they are definitely worth the effort. The buns have a delicate texture and the cilantro adds a burst of flavor to each bite.

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm water, and let sit for 10 minutes.
2.Add milk, salt, sweet butter, and flour. Mix together until dough forms.
3.Knead dough on floured surface for 10 minutes.
4.Shape dough into 12 balls, and put them in a greased pan.
5.Brush melted sweet butter on top of the balls.
6.Cover the pan with a damp towel and let dough rise for an additional 30 minutes.
7.Preheat oven to 350°F and steam buns for 20 minutes in a covered steamer.
8.Serve hot and enjoy!
