Instructions

1.In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water.
2.Add flour, powdered milk, baking powder, and melted shortening. Stir until well combined.
3.Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, then place in a greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour.
4.In a large pan, brown ground beef, ground Italian sausage, and chopped onions. Add shredded cabbage, mustard, salt and black pepper and cook until cabbage is wilted.
5.Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
6.Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces, and roll each piece into a circle about 6 inches in diameter.
7.Spoon about 1/2 cup of the beef mixture onto each dough circle and sprinkle with American and cheddar cheese.
8.Fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal the pastry shut.
9.Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve hot.
