Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
2 onions
3 carrots ( grated )
2 hard-boiled eggs
1/2 cup green olives ( optional )
5 -7 peeled potatoes
2 tablespoons butter ( or to taste )
1 pinch milk ( optional )
cumin ( to taste )
salt and pepper ( to taste )
crushed red pepper flakes ( to taste )
Pastel de Papa, or Potato and Ground Beef Pie, is a beloved comfort food in many Latin American countries like Argentina, Chile and Peru. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.Cook the ground beef with chopped onion and grated carrot until browned.

7.Spread half of the mashed potatoes into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
8.Spoon the beef mixture over the mashed potatoes in the dish.
9.Spread the remaining half of the mashed potatoes over the beef mixture.
10.Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the potatoes on top are golden brown. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
