Ingredients

1/3 cup unsifted flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 lbs boneless beef cubes
2 -3 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 cups water
4 beef bouillon cubes
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup carrot , sliced
1 cup celery , chopped
1 medium onion , cut in wedges
2 cups biscuit mix
3/4 cup cheddar cheese , shredded
Beef Stew With Cheese Dumplings is a classic comfort food perfect for cold winter days. This recipe dates back to my childhood and was one of my sister Debbie's favorites. The stew is packed with tender beef cubes, flavorful vegetables and is topped off with savory cheese dumplings. This hearty meal is perfect for a cozy dinner with family or friends, and the best part is, it's simple to make. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.Mix flour and salt in a plastic bag. Add beef and shake to coat.
3.In a large skillet, brown beef in oil. Add beef broth, water, bouillon cubes and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
4.Add carrots, celery and onions. Simmer for 30 minutes.
5.Mix biscuit mix with shredded cheddar cheese and enough water to form a soft dough.
6.Drop by spoonfuls into simmering stew (do not let dumplings touch). Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
7.Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
