Instructions

1.In a medium mixing bowl, combine beef broth, soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, dark brown sugar, molasses, five-spice powder, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
2.Pour the mixture into a large skillet set over medium-high heat.
3.Bring the sauce to a boil and cook for 5-6 minutes, until it has thickened slightly.
4.Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook for another 2 minutes.
5.Add the trimmed flank steaks to the skillet and spoon some of the sauce over the meat.
