5 lbs beef brisket , fat trimmed
This 3-day barbecued marinated beef brisket is the perfect centerpiece for your next summer barbecue or gathering. The brisket is marinated for 24 hours to infuse it with smoky flavor, then slow-baked in the oven for 5-6 hours until it's fork-tender. The next day, it's coated in sweet and tangy barbecue sauce before spending a day in the refrigerator to let the flavors meld together. On the third day, it's finally time to grill the brisket to perfection, basting it with more barbecue sauce for extra flavor. The end result is a tender, flavorful brisket that is sure to please any crowd.

Instructions

1.Day 1:
2.Mix together the liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and condensed chicken broth or beef consommé.
3.Place the trimmed brisket in a large baking dish and pour the marinade over it.
4.Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 24 hours.
5.Day 2:
6.Preheat your oven to 275°F.
7.Remove the baking dish from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature.
8.Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 5-6 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
9.Remove from the oven, let the meat rest for 30 minutes, then transfer it to a clean baking dish.
10.Pour the bottle of barbecue sauce over the meat, cover with foil, and refrigerate overnight.
11.Day 3:
12.Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
13.Remove the baking dish from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature.
14.Remove the brisket from the dish and reserve the barbecue sauce.
15.Grill the brisket for 10-15 minutes per side, basting with the reserved barbecue sauce.
