Ingredients

2 1/2 lbs beef tips
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
salt & pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 vidalia onion , very large ( cut lengthwise and sliced very thinly )
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup white wine ( I use dry Vermouth for my white cooking wine )
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 bag frozen lima beans ( I prefer baby lima beans )
1/2 cup half-and-half
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 can refrigerated biscuits , 10 count

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.Cut beef tips into 1-inch cubes. Season with salt and pepper. Coat with flour.
3.In a large dutch oven, heat up the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add seasoned beef and cook until browned on all sides.
4.Add in the onion and stir frequently for 3-4 minutes until softened.
5.Pour in beef broth and white wine to deglaze the pan. Add dried basil to the mixture.
6.Bring everything to a simmer and then cover the dutch oven with a lid. Place in the oven and bake for 2 hours.
7.Remove the dutch oven from the oven and add the frozen lima beans. Return the dutch oven to the oven and continue cooking for 30 minutes.
8.Take the dutch oven out of the oven again and add the half-and-half, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and refrigerated biscuits. Return the dutch oven to the oven and continue cooking for another 25-30 minutes.
