2 onions

4 linguica sausage

Instructions

1.Sort through the dried black beans and rinse in a colander.
2.In a 6-quart Crock-Pot, add the sorted and rinsed beans, onions, chicken broth, minced garlic, bay leaves, linguica sausage (sliced), smoked ham hocks, salt and enough water to cover the ingredients. Stir everything together.
3.Cover and cook on high heat for 6-7 hours or until beans are tender.
4.Cook rice according to package instructions.
5.Remove the bay leaves and ham hocks from the Crock-Pot and discard. Remove the sausage and cut into bite-sized pieces then return back to the Crock-Pot.
6.Serve hot with rice and optional hot sauce.
