8 ounces dry fava beans , Large size
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 scallions , chopped
1 garlic clove , minced
1 tablespoon basil , fresh and chopped
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary ( optional )
crushed red pepper flakes , dash
1 cup water
1 goya chicken bouillon cube
salt and pepper
4 cups water , to cook beans

Instructions

1.Soak the fava beans overnight.
2.Drain and rinse the beans and set aside.
3.In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.

5.Add fresh basil and dried rosemary (optional) to the pot, and stir.
6.Place the soaked fava beans in the pot, and add a dash of crushed red pepper flakes.
7.Pour 1 cup of water over the fava beans, and add the goya chicken bouillon cube.
8.Season with salt and pepper to taste.
9.Cover the pot and simmer for 1 hour.
10.After 1 hour, check the beans for doneness. If they are not yet tender, add another cup of water and continue simmering until the beans are fully cooked.
