1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter , softened
3 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg yolk

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2.In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

4.Gradually stir in the flour until the dough comes together.
5.On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a long cylinder and then cut it into small pieces about 2 cm tall.

7.Bake the sandbakelser for 15-20 minutes or until they are lightly golden in colour.
8.Allow them to cool slightly in the moulds before removing and transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
