8 chicken thighs

1/4 cup onion , grated

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper sauce
1/2 cup nutmeg syrup
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 425°F.
2.In a small saucepan, bring the water, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to a boil, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved.
3.In a separate small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth. Gradually stir the cornstarch mixture into the sugar mixture.
4.Cook and stir for an additional 2 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes clear.
5.Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the rum flavoring. Set this sweet sauce aside.
6.Arrange the chicken in a single layer in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
7.In a small bowl, combine the crushed garlic, grated onion, salt, pepper, soy sauce, pepper sauce and ground ginger.
8.Pour the garlic-ginger marinade over the chicken, submerging each piece.
9.Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
10.Add the nutmeg syrup to the sweet sauce and spoon the sauce evenly over each of the chicken pieces.
11.Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear.
