Ingredients

1 teaspoon curry powder

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon spanish paprika
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
12 ounces ground turkey
4 whole wheat hamburger buns , split and toasted
4 slices tomatoes
4 lettuce leaves

Instructions

1.In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add couscous and cover. Remove from the heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
2.In a large skillet, heat canola oil over medium heat. Add chopped red bell pepper and garlic, cook for 2 minutes or until soft.
3.Add dried thyme, curry powder, ground cumin, allspice, ground ginger, salt, fresh ground pepper, Spanish paprika, and cayenne pepper to the skillet. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
4.In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, cooked couscous, and spice mixture. Mix well.
5.Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Form turkey mixture into 4 equal patties. Cook for 6 to 7 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
6.Serve turkey burgers on toasted whole wheat buns with sliced tomatoes and lettuce leaves.
